Store grant helps Clydesdale’s hungry families

VOLUNTEERS at a Carluke-based charity were delighted to bank on the support of a local retailer thanks to a grant of almost £500.

The hard working Clydesdale Food Bank volunteers were delighted to accept the £490 given to them by Scotmid.

But despite the food bank shelves being almost full, the money will be well spent in other areas.

Clydesdale Food Bank co-ordinator Liz Paton said: “We receive referrals from a variety of agencies for people experiencing food poverty in Clydesdale.

“We are very grateful to Scotmid for their grant of £490 which has enabled us to purchase a laptop, laser printer and other computer peripherals allowing us to act more quickly when a referral comes in.”
