Storm Henry affects roads in East Dunbartonshire

Roads were closed overnight in East Dunbartonshire as a result of Storm Henry which brought gusts of wind over 90mph in some areas of Scotland.

A fallen tree on Campsie Road at Torrance was cleared away during the night and the road re-opened at 7am this morning (Tuesday, February 2).

Glasgow Road has now been re-opened after it was closed due to a serious accident near the Stables pub.

People are being warned to take car on the roads as there may be debris as a result of the storms.

A Met Office amber “be prepared” alert for high winds covering most of the country is in force until Tuesday morning.

Forecasters said winds of 70-80mph were expected widely, with 90mph gusts possible in exposed areas, especially in the west.

Restrictions have been put in place on bridges across Scotland and a number of train services have been suspended.
