Sun's out for street fair

The sun shone as Bellshill hosted its annual Street Fair over the bank holiday weekend.

Colin MacFarlane of YMCA Scotland opens this year's Street Fair.

Organised by Bellshill Community Council this year’s event was officially opened by Motherwell man Colin MacFarlane, YMCA Scotland’s National Plusone programme manager.

There was a huge variety of stalls run by local charities, churches and small businesses with entertainment provided by a number of dance schools, Soundsational choir, Bellshill Salvation Army Band and Bellshill & District Concert Brass.

For the first time M&D Events arranged a farmers’ market as well as operating a vast array of fairground rides.

Main Street was busy as the crowds gathered over the bank holiday weekend.
