Support growing for the creation of a skatepark in Bishopbriggs

A CAMPAIGN to create a new skatepark in a town is gaining support.

Youngsters at Bishopbriggs Youth BMX Club have launched a petition to establish a skatepark in Bishopbriggs.

The club, which was started by East Dunbartonshire’s Cycle Co-op two years ago, was created to try and build support for a skatepark in the town.

Jo Swinson MP is now backing the campaign.

She will hold an informal meeting in Huntershill Village at 6pm on Wednesday, August 8 to discuss the proposals.

The East Dunbartonshire MP said: “A number of constituents have voiced their interest in establishing a skatepark in Bishopbriggs. So I’ve decided to get everyone who is interested in the issue together in one room to get the ball rolling.

“Anyone who is interested, has ideas or who would like to find out more should RSVP via email [email protected] or ring my office on 0141 943 1568.”
