Retail giants Morrisons want to build a state-of-the-art food store on the former Bishopbriggs High School site, an enlarged car park and a six-pump filling station.

It’s the first phase in Morrisons’ ambitious £40million development proposals for Bishopbriggs town centre.

Cleddens Residents’ Group and Bishopbriggs Town Team have organised the public meeting to make more people aware of the plans, which have recently been submitted to East Dunbartonshire Council.

A spokesperson for the groups said: “This is our final chance to understand, comment on and, hopefully, influence a development which proposes major changes to our town centre and for our own residential areas.”

Stewart McNally, from East Dunbartonshire Council’s planning team, will be at the meeting.

The public meeting is being held in Woodhill Evangelical Church, Wester Cleddens Road, at 7pm.
