Teenagers caught with weapons after gang fights in North Glasgow

A 15-year-old boy received head injuries after being hit during a gang fight in Springburn.

Police received reports that rival gangs from Springburn and Possil were brawling in Hawthorn Street on Thursday, October 25, and Monday, October 29.

A teenager was taken to hospital with lacerations to his head following the attack on the Monday at around 7pm.

Police charged a 15-year-old boy with possessing a large stick later that night.

Officers stopped and searched gang members, 18 of whom were due to receive a visit by police and housing officers to warn them about their actions.

Meanwhile, in a separate gang fight, a 14-year-old boy was charged with carrying a metal pole in Carron Place, Springburn, on Wednesday, October 31, at around 9pm.
