The search is on for the singing stars of the future

The National Youth Choir of Scotland's (NYCoS) East Dunbartonshire Boys Choir is searching for the next cluster of budding young singers.

Boys from Primary 3, 4 and 5 are invited to a free taster session on Sunday May 22, at 1.30pm at Bishopbriggs Academy, where they will take part in a range of fun and informal singing games and rhymes.

All boys who take part will be offered the opportunity to join the choir.

Lorna Rudden, NYCoS area choirs manager, said: “Our enthusiastic and expert staff provide great singing experiences that are both fun and develop musical skills.

“Experience shows that boys fare better at singing when they are in their own team.

“Singing in a NYCoS choir has many other benefits too: gain a musical education, socialise and make friends, boost confidence by performing.”

The choir meets for an hour every Thursday evening during term time, where boys learn musicianship - including reading music and simple theory - and sing together with others their age.
