Thieves get away with a car in Bearsden

Thieves broke into a house on Thorn Road, Bearsden between 10.30pm on February 12 and 7.30am the following day.

They gained entry through a window to steal cash, a wallet and car keys, then made off with a Hyundai car which was parked outside.

A police spokesman said: “We’d like to remind residents to make sure they lock their doors and windows at all times, especially when going to bed at night.

“Also keep your valuables such as mobile phones, purses or handbags and car keys out of sight.

“Thieves are increasingly using a pole through a letterbox or cat flap to get car keys so we’d advise you to put them away in a drawer at night.

“Alternatively you could take them upstairs with you when you go to bed.”
