Thieves steal items totalling £2.8k from garage and shed in Bishopbriggs and Bearsden

Police are warning residents to be on their guard after more than £2,800 worth of possessions in total were stolen from a garage in Bishopbriggs and a garden shed in Bearsden.

In the first theft, thieves broke into a garage in Kelvin Drive, Bishopbriggs and made off with scrap items valued at £200. The break-in happened in the early hours of Thursday, December 15.

In the second incident, thieves broke into a garden shed in Bearsden at the weekend and stole more than £2,500 worth of possessions, including mountain bikes.

The robbers struck between Friday, December 16 and Sunday, December 18 at an address at Ravelston Road in the town.

Power tools were also taken.

A police spokesperson said on Monday their enquiries were continuing and appealed for anyone who could help to contact them on 101.

Officers are also warning people to be on extra guard against opportunist thieves, and keep their homes, garages and sheds secure, especially in the run-up to Christmas.
