Thieves target a string of cars in Kirkintilloch and Lenzie

CAR criminals are being hunted by police after vehicles were damaged and goods stolen in a wave of attacks.

Four vehicles were targeted last week, just days apart, in Kirkintilloch and Lenzie.

Car windows were smashed and goods stolen.

A black Vauxhall Corsa was broken into in Laurel Avenue, Lenzie, sometime between 8pm on Wednesday and 8.30am the following morning. A sat-nav system, worth £140, was taken.

And a gold Nissan Note was targeted in Kirkintilloch Road, Lenzie, between 9pm on Wednesday and 10.15am the following day. A sat-nav, worth £130, was stolen.

Meanwhile, overnight between Thursday and Friday, thieves broke into a green BMW in Larkfield Road, Lenzie, and stole a laptop worth £1,200.

Over the same period a black Ford Ka was targeted in Muirhead Street, in Kirkintilloch. A handbag containing a purse and various items were stolen.

Police believe the incidents are linked and anyone with information is asked to contact Kirkintiloch Police Office on 0141 532 4400.
