Thousands raised at charity ball

A BALL held for a leading cancer charity’s hospice has raised thousands.

The Marie Curie’s annual Daffodil Ball held at the Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow has raised an amazing £40,000.

At the event, hundreds of charity representatives and generous individuals enjoyed a champagne reception before listening to an opening speech from Marie Curie ward sister Linda Malcolm.

Guests included STV weather presenter Sean Batty and River City’s Gina Ross, actress Libby McArthur.

The money will go to the Glasgow Hospice, in the grounds of Stobhill Hospital, which costs around £12,000 a day to run.
