Sergeant Joe McGuckien, Road Policing Unit, Motherwell, is appealing for witnesses.

He said: “I would ask anyone who saw the crash take place to contact road policing officers at Motherwell Police Office via the 101 number.

“I am particularly keen to hear from an HGV driver who, from witnesses, we believe was driving in front of the black Mazda at the time of the crash and who therefore may have information that will help officers with their enquiries.”
