Time running out for provost award

DO YOU know someone who goes the extra mile? If so, time is against you to nominate for for East Renfrewshire Council’s citizen of the year.

East Ren provost Alastair Carmichael is reminding people that the deadline of October 28 is looming.

Provost Carmichael launched the new award last month in a bid to say thank you to the army of unsung heroes and heroines across East Renfrewshire.

He said: “As provost of East Renfrewshire council, I meet people every week who are really making a difference in our community.

“I felt it was time to recognise our unsung heroes by launching the Provost Award.

“This is designed to celebrate the achievements and hard work of the many individuals who are tirelessly working behind the scenes for their community.

“Make sure your local
hero or heroine is in the running and nominate them today.”

Winners will then be invited to the council chambers in December to receive their trophy from the provost.
