Time to sort out flooded walkway in Kirkintilloch

A PAVEMENT which ends up underwater whenever there is heavy rain in Kirkintilloch is being targeted.

The pavement near the junction of Townhead and Lenzie Road often ends up submerged in the event of a deluge.

One elderly man said: “When it’s flooded you have to walk on the other side of the road or take a chance on the road.

“You would need flippers to get through it!”

Head of roads and neighbourhood services, David Devine, said: “We are aware of the problem at Townhead and have scheduled drainage to be carried out as soon as possible.”
