Toes will be tapping at Mayfest

The opening and closing events of next month's Campsie Mayfest are certain to get your feet both moving AND tapping.

Milton of Campsie Hall Trust’s Mayfest kicks off on Monday, May 9, with a leisurely Campsie countryside walk of about three miles. Wear boots and carry waterproofs - just in case.

Children must be accompanied and no dogs please.

This walk is led by experienced ramblers, Ann Martin and Ian Brown. It starts outside the Village Hall at 10am.

It will finish at around 11.40am at the newly-restored village railway station, where there will be coffee, tea and cakes to enjoy while relaxing to the fine accordion playing of Calum Low.

Closing the week of arts and music, on Sunday, May 15, from 2pm, will be two terrific jazz bands.

At 2pm the Allander Band beats out traditional Dixie and New Orleans tunes, followed by Aubrey Gerber’s ‘Sounds of Jazz’ swinging to the music of Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Bennie Goodman.

Like at all Campsie Mayfest events - including the Art Show, Craft Fair, concerts and children’s events - refreshments are provided.
