Tom Conaghan ditches kilt to run London Marathon

ONE year on from wearing a saltire sports kilt when running the gruelling Flora London Marathon, Carluke’s Tom Conaghan is ditching the distinctive dress for his 2011 assault on the race.

Tom (39), of West Avenue, reckons that changing to more conventional running gear for Sunday’s race will help him realise his dream of completing the marathon in less than four hours.

“Wearing the kilt for last year’s London Marathon was a nightmare,” Tom said.
