Top health award for Douglasdale Medical Practice

They took the Top Team Award at the Scottish Health Awards at Edinburgh Corn Exchange, recognising their success in developing specialist skills that will benefit patients.

“We have always tried to do everything we can for our patients,” senior GP Dr Robert Flowerdew said after the ceremony.

Around 20 members of the team – doctors, receptionists, nurses, admin staff and cleaners – attended the awards ceremony on Thursday, and the night itself was memorable.

“Walking up there, being cheered and congratulated by surgeons, professors, MPs and Jackie Bird – that was enough reward for anyone,” he added.
