Town centre shoppers told to look out for crafty crooks

A mum-to-be has warned people to be on their guard after claiming two women tried to steal her purse.

Stacey Munro, who is eight months pregnant, says she was targeted in a shop in Kirkintilloch Town Centre.

She first became aware something wasn’t right when she felt somebody touch her back and turned around to discover that a woman had placed a jacket over her shoulder bag.

When she walked out onto the street to discover that her bag had been unzipped.

She said: “A younger woman walked straight out after me. My purse was then sitting at the top of my other items so I’m not sure if she had tried to take it then dropped it.

“I just want to tell other people to be careful. I’ve never been so angry.”
