Traffic lights to be installed near high school entrance

New traffic lights are being introduced onto Lindsaybeg Road in Chryston.

Alex Ramsay, North Lanarkshire Council’s assistant business manager, roads operations, said: “Traffic lights are being installed on Lindsaybeg Road at the entrance to the new housing development being constructed by the council’s housing service.

“The existing mini roundabout was not effective in controlling the traffic flow as drivers often drove across it, and this would have been made worse with increased traffic to and from the new development. In addition, we had received requests for a pedestrian crossing at this location, to make it easier for people walking to the nearby GP surgery and school.’’
