Continued diversions for burst main

Traffic diversions will be in place for the next few weeks following a burst water main in Cumbernauld.

The News and Chronicle reported online that the incident on Sunday, August 11, gave drivers a headache after temporary traffic management measures blocked a diversion already in place.

This resulted in queues of traffic and road blocks.

The local authority’s roads department have, however, since assessed the area and put alternative routes in place until the work to repair the road is carried out by Scottish Water.

The emergency closure will run until Sunday, September 1.
