Disruption for motorists for emergency water repairs at Milngavie

Scottish Water is advising road users of road traffic management on the A81 Strathblane Road to enable essential work on a water main to take place.

Work begins on Monday, September 14 near to Craigmaddie Lodge and is expected to take around one week for completion.

In order for the work to be carried out safely, temporary traffic lights will be in operation on Strathblane Road at Craigmaddie Lodge.

The lights will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm each day to help the flow of traffic and keep disruption to a minimum. Scottish Water said the emergency work is not expected to impact on supplies.

Water main works are also being carried out from Monday over six months at West Chapelton Crescent between West Chapelton Avenue and Greenhead Road; Greenhead Road between West Chapelton Crescent and West Chapelton Drive; West Chapelton Drive between West Chapelton Avenue and the A81 Milngavie Road; West Chapelton Avenue at its junctions with Chapelton Gardens; A81 Milngavie Road between West Chapelton Drive and Roman Road/Boclair Road; Beechwood Lane at its junction with the A809 Drymen Road; Canniesburn Road at junctions with Norwood Park and Whistlefield Court, Pendicle Crescent at junction with Pendicle Road and Roman Road at Roman Court and Horseshoe Road.
