East Renfrewshire Council has posted a short video featuring community safety officer Adam, who gives a reminder of the rules.

In particular, he stresses there is no parking or stopping allowed on the yellow zig-zag lines at school gates; that there is no stopping or waiting allowed on double yellow lines; and that disabled parking bays at schools are for blue badge holders only.

Failing to adhere to these rules could land you with a £60 fine.

Adam also highlights that many schools are in residential areas.

He says: “If you are parking in these areas, you need to make sure you are considerate and don’t park across anyone’s driveway or obstruct pavements. If you do, residents can contact Police Scotland.”
