Tributes at funeral of teacher Maryam Najafian
HEARTFELT tributes from her Lanark Primary pupils and colleagues figured prominently in the funeral of young teacher Maryam Najafian, killed in a freak accident a fortnight ago.
As reported in the Gazette, the highly popular 25-year-old primary two teacher died of head injuries received in a sledging accident in Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Park, leaving the whole school grief-stricken.
Its youngsters and staff expressed their sorrow at Maryam’s packed funeral service in Glasgow’s St Aloysius Church last week.
