Twist and Pulse set to headline at Cumbernauld Live

Cumbernauld Shopping Centre is THE place to be next Saturday (September 3), for an afternoon of star-studded entertainment.

For the centre will play host to “Cumbernauld Live”, a FREE event which will bring acts such as Twist and Pulse - Britain’s Got Talent runner’s-up – Soundgirl, Pearl and the Puppets and Paulo Martini to the car park off Central Way.

The big event, which is scheduled to start at 12.30pm, follows on from the incredible success of Diva Fever at Christmas last year.

TCA Local are working together with Cumbernauld Shopping Centre manager Robert Barr to bring a host of entertainment to the town.

Headlining the show are Britain’s Got Talent runners up Twist and Pulse. Since their appearance on the show, Glen and Ashley have been entertaining audiences all over the UK with their unique mix of comedy and street dance.

Joining them will be girl group Soundgirl. The London teens are behind this year’s catchy summer song, Don’t Know Why, a cover of the Carly Simon classic. Also appearing is up and coming boy band The Mend, four Manchester lads who have already created controversy at this year’s X Factor.

Also on stage will be Kirkintilloch band Pearl and the Puppets, famed for their hit songs Because I Do and Make Me Smile, while winner of last year’s Real Radio T Factor competition, Paolo Martini, will be performing popular hit songs such as New Shoes and Pencil Full of Lead.

Local dancers, Blok Dance Troupe, will take to the stage to perform a mix of hip hop and cheerleading routines and singer Martin Bannon will entertain the crowd with some classic songs from artists such as Luther Vandross and Michael Buble.

Hosted by Real Radio presenter Micky Gavin and STV’s Josie Smith, this free event promises to deliver a great afternoon of live music and dance.

TCA Local’s town centre co-ordinator Jack Duffy said “We are bringing talent from across the UK to Cumbernauld and I’m looking forward to seeing the crowds turn out to enjoy this great mix of entertainment.”
