Unbeaten United are three points clear at the top after nine games, but Anderson said that John Brogan’s new look side are far from home and dry.

He said: “ We would like to win the league, but we’re not really that confident.

“Although we are unbeaten at the moment, there are a lot of hard games to come.

“We have played six home games and just three away so far.

“Our next two league games – starting on January 9 – are away from home.”

United play a friendly match at Dalziel Amateurs tonight (Wednesday), kick-off 7pm.
