Van thefts continue in Cumbernauld and Kilsyth area after Croy vehicles raided

Police have put out an appeal for witnesses after two works vans parked in Croy were broken into and robbed in quick succession.

The incident happened in Old Mill View at some point between 7pm on Thursday, November 10 and 7.15am on the following day.

Officers have confirmed that the crime also involved a home break-in.

This occurred after the thief gained access to a house to steal a key.

This was duly used and a number of specialist tools were taken from the van.

However, the theft did not end there when another van parked nearby was also broken into.

The expense involved in replacing the tools taken will run into the four figures.
