Vandals trash school garden

VANDALS have targeted Whitelees Primary's nature garden, damaging several years worth of work.

Benches were broken, plants were uprooted and rubbish strewn around the spot in which pupils take so much pride.

Mairi Oliver, deputy head, said: "When we came back we found the garden had been devastated. It's really horrible because the children had put all the work in to get it all together and they were quite disappointed.

"It's not just this year that there's work been done, there's a lot of children over the years that have put a lot of work into it. The kids use it quite a lot, especially in the better weather - it's just not fair on them."

The incident has been reported to the police.
