Sally McLellan, the choir Musical Director, said: “We are delighted to be able to have Jamie as our guest despite his busy schedule. We are sure that our audience will be very well entertained by his diverse choice of music.”

The choir will be performing many well-known songs again this year and also some new arrangements, including a James Bond medley and a selection of songs from the First World War.

Part of the proceeds of the concert will be donated to De Café, which is a place for people with dementia and their carers to meet.

De café was started in Kirkintilloch in 2006 by Ceartas, an independent Advocacy Service in East Dunbartonshire, and is going from strength to strength.

We now have a further three de cafes in East Dunbartonshire which are delivered in partnership with the East Dunbartonshire Dementia Network, including Carers Link and Alzheimer Scotland.

De Café provides space where people can get together, have a chat over a coffee and find out information about services in their local community. Staff and volunteers are on hand to provide information on a range of topics including arranging Power of Attorney, accessing other groups in the local area and finding out about day care and respite services.

A spokesperson for the charity said: “We feel that De Café makes a valuable contribution to the lives of people with dementia, their carers and families and are grateful to the Kirkintilloch Male Voice Choir for thinking about us when choosing their charity nomination for this year’s Annual Concert.”

Nonna’s restaurant in Kirkintilloch has again partly sponsored the concert. They have also offered a 10% discount on the night of the concert to ticket holders.

Sally said: “We are delighted that Nonna’s has again supported the choir this year. Their help is much appreciated”

The tickets, which are priced £8, can be purchased from any choir member, from Lynsey’s Flowers, Catherine Street, Kirkintilloch, by phoning
