Individuals are being asked to sign standing orders for £1 a week, or £2 for businesses, to keep the toilets open.

Almost 50 people turned out to a public meeting in the Corn Exchange on Wednesday and afterwards Mike Chad, who chairs the group, said that he was “quietly optimistic” about the project.
