Voters will go to the polls next month in an election which will determine who will lead the UK government at Westminster.

Before then, anyone wishing to cast a vote must ensure they are registered while those planning to vote via post, or use a proxy, also need to sign up.

This will be the first UK general election where voters are required to show identification when voting in person — and certificates are available to those who don’t have an accepted form of ID.
