Walk kicks off anniversary plans

Some 35 people started out which swelled to around 50 at the finish-line.

“Others joined in at various points,” explained Robert Allison, chairman of the anniversary committee.

The route took the members to Lanark Road, down to Crossford, back by Waygateshaw Road and through Carluke, then to Castlehill, and round by the windfarm to Yieldshields. “It was a fair old walk but the weather was fantastic,” said Robert.

“We were really lucky with it.”

The walk should raise around £1000 and members will soon start rehearsing for the first event, a concert in January.
