Lenzie Road, in Stepps, was closed from Anniesdale Avenue to Church Avenue on Monday, August 20, to allow drainage works to be carried out.

It is not set to reopen until Sunday, October 14.

The road will be closed to all vehicles while the work is being carried out. Diversions will be in place.

A spokesperson for North Lanarkshire Council said: “The work will replace an old water culvert which runs from Blenheim Avenue, underneath the park and the tennis court, to Lenzie Road. The road drainage system on Lenzie Road will also be upgraded and this will link into the new culvert.

“Overall, this will improve drainage in the park and surrounding properties. Access for residents on Lenzie Road will be maintained throughout the work. The council recently completed work on Blenheim Avenue to repair problems with the road gulleys.”
