In Carluke, the brother of a former Carluke Rovers star who collapsed on the pitch and died later in hospital has thanked the public who have helped raise more than £3,500 in his memory while over in Lanark, a well-known Lanark voluntary worker has lashed out at being made “the scapegoat” for problems at this year’s Whuppity Scoorie event.

In Lesmahagow, police are appealing for information after the village’s RBS had a five figure sum stolen from its ATM on Sunday morning.
