A call has gone out for the train-users of Lanark and Carluke to stage a mass-revolt against the unpopular new Glasgow timetable which came into effect on Sunday.

There are over 400 food banks operating across the country with the Clydesdale Food Bank seeing its referrals double in the past 12 months.

In a great example of community spirit, volunteers at Clydesdale charity New Beginnings have amassed a toy collection Santa himself would be proud of - thanks to the public’s generosity.
