For an unknown person from East Dunbartonshire has won £1 million on the EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle draw – but hasn’t been bothered to get in touch to claim their prize.

A National Lottery spokesperson told the Herald: “There is one lucky winner in East Dunbartonshire with simply no idea of their win – imagine walking around not knowing you are a millionaire!

“We urge every player to check their tickets as there a there are life-changing prizes waiting to be claimed.

“The clock is now ticking for these ticket-holders and we want to get the prize into bank account so they can start enjoying their win as soon as possible.”

With all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize if they have a winning ticket.

The spokesperson continued: “Check in the bottom of your handbag and in every coat pocket, even have a rummage down the back of your sofa – the ticket could be lurking anywhere.

“This draw has been life-changing for 88 ticket holders already and we are desperate to find our missing millionaires.

“This special draw, like every draw, helps to raise more than £35 million every week for National Lottery Good Causes across the UK.”

If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the money, plus all interest it has generated, will go to the Good Causes – adding to the £30billion already raised through sales of lottery tickets since the National Lottery launched in November 1994.

The National Lottery is also looking for another two millionaires in Fife who have also not come forward.

The winning code is: CBT475280.
