Where to next for Thornliebank?

Thornliebank residents are invited to have their say on how the area could be improved as a place to live, work and visit.

Plans to transform the town include a community hub at an extended Thorntree Hall — but an engagement event later this month will give locals the chance to put forward more ideas for the future.

The community hub is part of a bid from East Renfrewshire Council’s economic regeneration team to secure £1.4 million in funding from the Scottish Government.

Councillor Tony Buchanan, convener for infrastructure and sustainable growth, said: “I would urge everyone to join in with the public consultation and have their say — we want to hear as many views as possible.

“Please come along to let us know what you like about Thornliebank, what is missing from the area, what you think works well and what additional services you would like to see.

“Your ideas will help to shape the future of Thornliebank and make it an even better place to live, work and visit.”

All are invited to a consultation event running October 26-28 (Mon-Wed), 10am-8pm at Thorntree Hall on Thornliebank’s Main Street.
