Windfarm cash injection for Lesmahagow

LESMAHAGOW could be set for a major cash injection if plans to build a new windfarm, near Strathaven, are given the go ahead.

A draft application for the site, known as Kype Muir, is due to be submitted to the Scottish Government at the end of April.

And, as Lesmahagow falls within a 10 kilometre radius of the site, it is one of four communities that may benefit from the cash injection from Banks Renewables.

Under Banks’ plans, a minimum of £7 million over the next 25 years would be split between Lesmahagow, Stonehouse, Sandford and Strathaven.
