Window wonders

PUPILS at three primary schools in Cumbernauld have created festive window art for Condorrat Parish Church.

Condorrat Primary School, Westfield Primary School and Baird Memorial Primary School all contributed designs which are proudly displayed at the church. Along with their Christmas tree, the children’s artwork creates a pleasant Yuletide atmosphere, the perfect compliment for the Christmas services to come.

Reverend Grace Saunders, the minister at the church, said: “This is the second year we’ve had these displays.

The project was the idea of retired Boys’ Brigade captain Andrew Eadie, who felt it would be a good way to forge closer links between the church and local primary schools, so he made frames which were given to the schools for the pupils to decorate then put on display in the main church.

“On Wednesday, December 19, we held an open day for the community to view the artwork and our tree. Everyone had a lovely time and this is something we’ll continue to do year after year.”

All the designs portray different things associated with the church at Christmas time

The Westfield piece was by Primary 4 pupils and depicts the Nativity. Pupils from Baird Memorial created a stained glass design in acrylics and Condorrat Primary’s offering features Christmas songs, candles and angels.
