Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) crews were sent from Easterhouse, Cumbernauld and Kirkintilloch in response to a call from Police Scotland made shortly before midnight on Friday night.

The incident commander, Station Manager Kenny Barbour, said: “Firefighters worked to gain access to the casualty using hydraulic cutting equipment and ambulance personnel were in attendance and assessing her condition.

“After being safely removed from the car she was taken to Monklands Hospital. Our crews continued working to make the vehicle and the scene safe.”
