Woodfarm’s insider info on Westminster
Modern Studies students at Woodfarm High are clued up on parliamentary procedure.
The higher level pupils welcomed Lord Tommy McAvoy, member of the House of Lords, to the school to talk about life at Westminster.
Modern studies teacher Graeme Thomson said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to interact with someone who knows the parliamentary system inside out, as it sometimes seem far removed from their daily lives.”
Some 27 pupils took part in the hour-long session, arranged through the Lord Speaker’s Peers in Schools programme.
