Woodhill Fun Day brings the smiles to Bishopbriggs

Bishopriggs’ Etive Park on Sunday was the fun-filled scene of what’s reckoned to have been the biggest – and best – local event this year.

With the main season for galas and fun days well behind us Woodhill’s special day was a late season treat enjoyed by scores of families.

And the excellent turnout, helped along by some welcome dry weather, is reckoned to have given a substantial boost to an ambitious community orchard scheme.

Highlights of this year’s Woodhill Family Fun Day included a huge fun slide, the ever-popular Super Bungee and a new selection of bouncy castles and other fun inflatables.

A delighted Woodhill Residents’ Group chairman Donald Macdonald said: “This shaped up to be the biggest ever Woodhill Family Fun Day – and its success will allow us to start work on our Etive Project.”

He added: “That will see a community orchard trail being established across Woodhill and Auchinairn.”
