Would businesses offer a space toi-let?

A suggestion has been made for businesses and the council to join forces to create a scheme to give the public in Kilsyth access to toilets in a variety of locations.

At Kilsyth Community Council’s (KCC) recent meeting, Paul Carter, of the Friends of Kelvin Valley, spoke about how Perth and Kinross Council had adopted a scheme for businesses to open up their toilets to the public regardless of them being paying customers. He suggested such a scheme would make Kilsyth more attractive to tourists and visiting walkers.

KCC have spoken out in the past about the lack of toilet facilities in the town. The public toilet’s in King Street were closed down but police station does allow the public access to a toilet although they have to request a key from staff.
