Would you like to live in Carluke or Lanark High Street?

A NEW scheme aimed at revitalising local town centres could be earmarked to help revitalise Carluke and Lanark.

The new £2 million Scottish Government pilot project would give developers the opportunity to turn vacant properties into affordable housing and put residents back at the centre of their high streets.

Clydesdale MSP Aileen Campbell has written to Finance Secretary John Swinney to ask the Scottish Government to consider Carluke and Lanark as possible locations for the pilot.

She said: “I will continue to make the case for Carluke and Lanark to help bring more investment to our town centres.”
