Young and old played generation game at recent event

Connecting Generations, organised by the East Dunbartonshire GenerationsWorking Together Network, saw several organisations and community groups come together including East Dunbartonshire Council, East DunbartonshireVoluntary Action, Zero Waste Scotland, East Dunbartonshire Culture and Leisure Trust, Citizen Advice Bureau, OPAL, Police Scotland, Food Co-op, the Dementia Network and the NHS Health Improvement Team.

Over 120 people took part including pupils from Douglas Academy in Milngavie and Mosshead Primary School in Bearsden along with members of Kirkintilloch and the Districts Seniors Forum and Bishopbriggs Seniors Forum.

A number of workshops were held during the day including intergenerational zumba, knitting, tablets and technology and memory boxes. There were also performances and presentations from school children, an award ceremony and an intergenerational quiz.

Council leader Rhondda Geekie, said: “This is the second time we have held an intergenerational event and it was an absolute success.”
