Youngster flees scene after being knocked down by car

A MYSTERY 12-year-old boy was injured after being hit by a car in Springburn . . . and then fled the scene.

The youngster was left with grazing to his body after being hit by a black Land Rover in Springburn Road, near to the KFC restaurant.

The car did stop, but the driver carried on his journey after the boy ran off. Police want to speak to the man behind the wheel, along with the driver of a black Hackney cab which also stopped at the scene. The incident took place on Tuesday, October 30, at around 3.15pm.

Constable James Paul, of Maryhill Police Office, said: “Although the man driving the Land Rover stopped, he did not leave any details and has not reported the crash.

“I would appeal to him, along with the taxi driver and anyone else who was in the area at the time to contact police on 0141 532 4400.”
