Mr Masterton will be sharing his fears about the calibre of care available to those outwith normal surgery hours in Cumbernauld and Kilsyth in the wake of the report.

He believes that locals are receiving a raw deal and that the matter needs to be urgently addressed.

Mr Masterton said: “There are 28 proposals covering the health service and our interest concerns the fact that out-of-hours care is not fit for purpose.

“We now want to know when this will start.

“We also want to know whether the funds will be given in full to operate this service.”
