Top award for Jewish charity

The Giffnock-based charity was given the highest award for volunteer groups across the UK for the work it has done in its community by Renfrewshire’s Lord Lieutenant.

And to further recognise the group’s work in the community, provost Carmichael presented it with a crystal vase.

Provost Carmichael said: “Jewish Care Scotland is a fantastic organisation which supports people of all ages in the community in a professional, caring and compassionate way.

“Both young and older people can all receive support from Jewish Care Scotland.

“And it consistently offers a helping hand through its professional staff and its dedicated agency volunteers.

“I have great admiration for all the volunteers who have been instrumental in working towards achieving such a prestigious award.

“It therefore gives me great pleasure in also presenting the charity with an award from East Renfrewshire council”.
