We’ll be good for Kilsyth, cafe vows

FEARS that another take-away could open up in Kilsyth have been allayed by the owner of the business.

Concerns were raised at a recent Kilsyth Community Council meeting after a planning application request was lodge on behalf of Mr Yin Wah Yip to change the use of 24-28 Main Street from a shop to a cafe with home food take away.

The application also includes plans to alter the shop front and there was fears that Kilsyth would have another late night take-away in the town.

Members of the community council heard that the shop has been vacant for some time and was previously a pharmacy in the town.

Concerns, however, were raised over the fact that there is already too many take-aways in the town.

Several members of the community council brought up the issue of another take-away encouraging more litter and anti-social behaviour associated with such premises.
