Glasgow Central to have no lift access to lower platforms for eight days this month

Scotrail has announced that the lower levels at Glasgow Central will be inaccesible via elevator for eight days from 5 September to 13 September.

This news comes as maintenance work is being carried out on the lift to platforms 16 and 17 - meaning there will be no step-free access to the lower platforms.

Scotrail have urged those who will be affected to contact the Assisted Travel team in advance so they can provide support.

The team posted on their social media, writing: “We need to do some work on the lift at Glasgow Central low level. This means there'll be no step-free access to or from platforms 16 & 17 from 5-13 September.

“Trains departing from Platfoms 16 and 17 include: Glasgow Central to Motherwell, Glasgow Central to Cumbernauld, Glasgow Central to Larkhall, and Glasgow Central to Dalmuir.”
