Has boredom become too much, jogging a bit tiresome? Always fancied yourself as a bit of a dancer?
Well, now could be the time to give it a go as experts reveal the dance routines you should attempt if you fancy a challenge.
Since lockdown, the search term ‘TikTok dances to learn’ has seen some of its biggest spikes in 12 months, according to Google Trends with more and more people looking to perfect the routines.
Experts at Uswitch.com have scoured TikTok and YouTube to compile a list of the most popular dance routines and with input from professional dancers, have ranked them on a scale from one to 10 so you can work from beginner level to expert in no time.
Easiest to learn
TikTok’s dance challenge to JACKBOYS and Travis Scott’s song OUT WEST is the easiest to learn. With just five moves it can be mastered in five minutes and you can watch those likes roll in.
At the other end of the scale Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’ routine would take five days to perfect, with 76 moves in total so you’d have to be pretty dedicated to master that.
The Social Dis-dancing study has also broken the dance routines down by the number of moves, including expert estimates on how long they will take to learn, with the number of calories burned in learning them estimated.
Top calorie burner
MC Hammer’s U Can’t Touch This is the biggest calorie burner, anticipated to swallow up 35,269 calories, the equivalent of the average person running for more than 54 hours on the treadmill or cycling for 137 hours.
Personal trainer, nutritionist and author Stuart Roberts said: “Dancing is one of those rare forms of exercise that ticks all the boxes. As well as improving cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, joint mobility, coordination and balance it’s also something you can do at any time of your life.”
